How to choose a headlamp
Start with what you do after dark, not with the lumen number. Reading in a tent, walking the dog and setting up camp are 100 to 300 lumen jobs. Trail running, night hikes and work sites want 700 lumens or more, a beam that reaches down the trail, and a headband that stays put when you sweat.
For camp and family: CUPO and CUPO Mini
CUPO puts out 300 lumens through a hybrid beam that lights the path ahead and the ground at your feet at the same time. The one-piece silicone headband has no buckles to lose and wipes clean. It runs up to 13 hours and charges over USB-C. CUPO Mini is the compact version for kids and smaller heads: 100 lumens, 57 g, three brightness levels.
For trail and work: TRIGO, LUMEO and MEGLE
These are the headlamps for people who are out for hours. Higher output, longer throw, multiple beam patterns and larger batteries. If you run technical trails at night or work outdoors after sunset, start here.
Good to know
- All headlamps are USB-C rechargeable. No spare cells to buy.
- Two-year warranty on the light. The battery packs on TRIGO, LUMEO and MEGLE carry their own term, listed on each product page.
- Orders over $60 ship free from our California warehouse.
