FAQs
If you do not find the answer to your question in our here, you can send us a message.
How strong is the magnet? Will SparkO fall off metal surfaces?
SparkO features powerful magnets that hold securely on steel surfaces (car hoods, toolboxes, fridges, metal shelves). It can support its own weight even when upside down. However, the magnetic grip depends on surface quality—painted or textured metal may have weaker hold than bare steel. For critical applications, we recommend also using the clip as backup.
What thickness of fabric can the clip hold?
The clip grips fabrics up to 3-4mm thick—perfect for:
✓ T-shirts and dress shirts
✓ Lab coats and scrubs
✓ Light jackets and windbreakers
✓ Hat brims and cap visors
✓ Backpack straps
Thick winter coats or heavy denim may be too bulky for a secure hold.
Can I clip SparkO onto a hat brim for hands-free lighting?
Yes! SparkO clips securely onto most hat brims and cap visors (3-4mm thickness), giving you headlamp-style hands-free lighting without the discomfort of a headband. Many users prefer this to traditional headlamps because:
- No pressure on forehead
- No hair tangling
- Easy to adjust angle
- Works with any hat you already own
How do I change the brightness level?
When the light is on, single click the button to cycle through brightness levels: Eco → Low → Medium → High → Eco...
How do I check the battery level?
When SparkO is off, single-click the button. Four small LEDs around the main light will indicate remaining power:
- 4 LEDs (solid red): 100-76% battery
- 3 LEDs (solid red): 75-51% battery
- 2 LEDs (solid red): 50-26% battery
- 1 LED (solid red): 25-11% battery
- 1 LED (flashing red): 10-1% battery—charge soon!

I was surprised how strong the magnet is and the brightness of the light. I used it mainly as a light for dark restrooms when hiking and it works perfectly for that.

This Sparko is now my best friend in the night, when I am running or moving in the dark. So easy to use and truly something useful. The magnet works well too.....
F
Too heavy and won't stay where I need it. Tired to send it back. They make it impossible to do so and won't answer e-mail and phone line doesn't work.
E
Very lightweight and easy to wear anywhere. I have tried many clip lights in the market you could wear in your shirt, but this is the only one that doesn’t bounce around and jiggle on every step I take, and I can even sprint with it and it keeps in place surprisingly well. It’s stupid bright too, the medium setting is enough for most of my tasks.
A
This is a very flexible and useful light with an excellent user interface that is really simple to use, switching through several modes is easy.
Great quality and seems pretty robust, there are cheap knockoffs of this product but none come close to function and build quality.
I'm really pleased that I bought it and am confident that I will purchase more.

This little baby is super bright and I can’t believe how strong this magnet is on this thing. Worth the money and wait.
C
I love this light! It gets so much brighter than I even thought it would. The different temperatures are greatly appreciated. The button sequence controls were a little tricky at first but now that I’ve got it down I’ve really been enjoying it. In the last week I’ve been using it while traveling and staying in hostels. The lowest warm setting is perfect to not disturb other guests and let me get ready for bed. I’ve been lucky enough to have metal things to stick it to as well. My biggest fear
Is that I leave it behind on accident since it’s so small and portable. When I’m at home I plan to have it stuck to my fridge since power outages are common where I live.

My Sparko lives round my neck as a choker, I work with fibres and it is just enough light in the right place without blinding me

Me encanta este color, justo lo vi para mi esposa.
A
Me hacía mucha ilusión recibir los nuevos colores. Ya lo he probado, y como producto es excelente. Mis nuevos pedidos son para regalar.
C
Unfortunately there were problems initially with my order. One of the colours I ordered was out of stock. Communication is the key to good customer service and I definitely did not get good communication from Scoutlite. However, 2 months later, once the lights arrived, I have found them to be very good. I would recommend them as such, but just be aware you may need to chase your order up frequently.

This little light is terrific! It works just like it's shown on the website. I use the flashing red light, clipped to the back of my jacket, when I walk my dog at night. The bright white light is perfect for finding things in dark places. I' m glad I bought this little guy!
